What is an uta?

Among other things, every uta can be used as the following things:
  • Telephone
  • ID card
  • Bank card
  • Library card
  • Address book
  • Detection tool
  • Train ticket
  • Driver's license
  • Front door key

  • Forthermore, every uta contains a copy of the Holy Scriptures - just to be on the safe side.

And why isn't uta spelled with capital letters (UTA)?

There is a spelling with only capital letters. But since the first man did in 89 because of a spasm in the pinky, which was caused by to many acronyms in written word, almost all languages allow to write acronyms with only small letters.

Fun fact: In German every noun is spelled with a capital letter, even in acronyms. Studies showed that Germans therefore have the strongest pinkys in the world.

    Does everybody wear an uta?

No. Small children and deadly ill (or dead) people don't usually wear one. But since utas are used as IDs, laws force kids age 3 and up to wear one.

Why is there a taking of a blood sample on the first day of school?

    To prevent illnesses.
Adults also need to give some blood on the first workday in September.
In most cases after the blood is taken and analyzed you get a shot against serious illnesses you don't already have antibodies for.
Diseases like diabetis or some kinds of cancer can be detected early this way.

Why doesn't anybody have a backpack and only one has a jacket?

Each pupil has a own laptop (which is locked in after school), on which he does all of his work.
To do homework, each student has to access his laptop via internet.

There are less jackets, because the school is in the inner yard of the builing, in the middle of warm apartments. Most of the year it is not cold enough to wear a jacket.
